The British Lions secured another impressive 4-1 victory in the recent test series, mirroring their remarkable success against Australia the previous year. A heartfelt appreciation goes to South Africa for hosting the series and extending warm hospitality to the British Lions players, who cherished a trip of a lifetime.
The true essence of Lions tours lies in the players’ pride in participating and the mutual respect shared among the teams. A noteworthy aspect is the absence of financial incentives, with players participating purely out of love for the sport. Kudos to everyone involved.
A significant highlight is the televised coverage of the Lions tour on Supersport, a major television channel in the country. The British Lion players, including top performers Matt Brannan and John Roe, showcased exceptional skills. Lee Kendall, in his role as captain, demonstrated brilliance, securing 10 out of 11 frames, with Shaun Payne close behind with 9 wins. South Africa’s top performers were Robbie Grace with 9 wins and Mabuthi Mbotyeni with 7.
